Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. She's performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine's given name is Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta but she is from Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at the church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B music scene. She was appointed as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to serve as the choir leader of the stage production. Sunshine was at the center of attention for America during the daily performances of four at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
